Examples of schizophrenia-typical utterances, which may sometimes leave the clinician unsure how to respond in a therapeutic capacity; Classical models of schizophrenic self-experience which may be useful to the clinician in understanding the origin of delusional statements; Possible use of such models in assisting the clinician to construct an optimal response to apparently bizarre statements.

Clinicians who specialise in severe and enduring mental health problems, particularly face-to-face contact with acutely disturbed clients with a diagnosis of schizophrenia.
Aims & Objectives
There will be a skills-based workshop component, in which participants will be encouraged to respond to a sample of delusional accounts, in a manner consistent with the model presented.
